MIT has been named one of the top 10 best colleges in the United States by U.S. News & World Report, writes Celia Fernandez for CNBC.

MIT was named to the number two spot in the U.S. News & World Report ranking of the best colleges and universities across the country, reports Shannon Larson for The Boston Globe. MIT also “led the pack of undergraduate engineering programs in which a doctorate is the highest degree offered,” and was also “recognized for its undergraduate business program, coming in at No. 2,” writes Larson.

MIT was ranked first in the Forbes 2022 top colleges ranking, reports Emma Whitford and Caroline Howard for Forbes. “Forbes’ top colleges ranking spotlights schools that offer an excellent education at a great price, graduate high-earners and propel students to become successful entrepreneurs and influential leaders in their fields,” they write. “The Massachusetts Institute of Technology—ranked number one for the first time this year—accomplishes all of this and more.”

In an interview with QS Vice President Ben Sowter, Associate Provost Richard Lester reflected on the Institute’s success as a global leader of higher education. “No academic institution can be thought of – or can think of itself – in isolation,” said Lester. “We benefit from, and we depend on, a network of institutions with whom we exchange knowledge and ideas.”

MIT has been rated the world’s best university by the QS World University Rankings for the 11th year in a row, reports Michael T. Nietzel for Forbes. “MIT’s success takes the spotlight as the world’s preeminent university and the US shines as the world’s superlative higher education system,” says Ben Sowter, QS Senior Vice President.

MIT was ranked the best value college in Massachusetts by SmartAsset, reports Frank O’Laughlin for WHDH 7. The ranking compared “educational institutions across five metrics, including scholarships, starting salary, tuition, living costs, and retention rate to identify colleges in the Bay State that offer the best return on student investment,” writes O’Laughlin.
