Each year, the MIT community comes together to celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of staff and community members at the MIT Excellence Awards and Collier Medal Ceremony. The MIT Excellence Awards are among the highest honors awarded to staff by MIT. In 2014, the Collier Medal was created to honor the memory of Officer Sean Collier, who will live on through the award recipients.

This year’s award winners range from mechanical engineers to administrative and medical staff to a physics professor. They work across campus and at Lincoln Laboratory, and they are being honored in six different categories. In each of their respective categories, this year’s winners have demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a commitment to the MIT community. This year MIT’s Rewards and Recognition Program will also be celebrating its own recent recognition from Recognition Professionals International. The program is being honored for its communications, recognition training, and program flexibility best practices.

The 2015 MIT Excellence Awards and Collier Medal Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, March 11, at 3 p.m. in the Kresge Auditorium (Building W16), with a reception to follow.
