The MIT community is invited to participate in and contribute to the Inauguration 2012 activities taking place from September 19-22. In addition to the ceremony at 2:30 pm on Friday afternoon, there are open symposia (no registration required) on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings — plus a community festival for faculty, staff, students, alumni and their families on Saturday, Sept. 22. All of these events and activities are open to the entire MIT community.

- Present a three-minute talk during the opening session of A Globally Engaged MIT Symposium drawing attention to your MIT international program, center, activity, or idea for the future;
- Run the Beaver Dash: 5k and a few smoots, to benefit Habitat for Humanity;
- Play the Around the Dome Campus Quest, a campus-wide hunt for teams of 3–6 players;
