Undergraduates who have completed their first year are encouraged to apply for the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SMURF), which provides a unique opportunity for undergraduates to participate in the SMART Centre in Singapore.

The awards are open to MIT, NTU and NUS undergraduates in good standing who have already or will have successfully completed their first year, and include round trip economy class airfare to Singapore, housing, an hourly rate of $10, and daily food and travel per diem of $25.

The fellowship recipient would be able to participate in an MIT-SMART faculty member’s research project in one of the four existing SMART Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs).
